Description | Round jar with flat base and flaring vertical sides that rise to a high shoulder and then curve inward near rim to form wide mouth; Interior and exterior surfaces are scraped smooth; Exterior sides and interior of rim are highly burnished; Design painted in matte black around upper sides consists of band of negative feathers; Jar is reduction fired to black-on-black finish; Signature "Marie + Julian" is lightly incised in script on base. | |
