Description | Jar-shaped basket with narrow base and rounded sides, flaring to a maximum diameter at the mid-section, then tapering gradually toward the rim; Basket is woven in coiled technique, primarily over a two-rod foundation, and occasionally over three rods; Warp and weft materials are probably willow or sumac shoots; Traces of pine pitch coating remain on interior; Traces of two black horsehair handles remain opposite each other on the shoulders. | |
