Description | Very shallow round bowl with flat base and flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth and highly burnished; Designs on interior are painted in dark gray and include series of 3 parallel lines that encircles interior rim; Center of bowl is divided into quadrants by means of a negative "X" motif; 2 different motifs are painted in alternate quadrants, the first one a sunburst pattern and the other including a bisected stack of 3 triangles flanked by negative geometric shapes; Bowl is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie + Julian" is incised in printed letters on base. | |
