Description Effigy bowl in the form of a bird with flat base, flaring wings, and extended tail; Modeled head of bird rises well above rim and terminates in pointed beak; Pair of punctate holes represent eyes; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth and highly burnished, except for exterior base; Bowl is otherwise undecorated; Bowl is reduction fired to glossy black color; Signature "Florence San Ildefonso" is incised in script on base. Florence Aguilar Naranjo is the daughter of Rosalie Simbola Aguilar and Joe Aguilar [José Angeles Aguilar] and the sister of Joe Aguilar (Jose Vincente Aguilar) and Alfred Aguilar, all of whose works are also represented in the CAS collection.
