Description Slightly oval shaped bowl with flat base and gently rounded sides; Coiled on 3-rod foundation; Designs are in dyed willow and include band of small terraced solid diamonds around lower sides and wide band around upper sides of open diamonds arranged in 4 groups of 2 or 3 motifs each, all between upper and lower framing lines. [In 1980, basket specialist Bruce Bernstein (Wheelwright Museum, National Museum of the American Indian) tentatively identified this basket as “probably from the Panamint-Shoshone area.”]
