Description | Round basket with flat base and rounded sides tapering inward toward rim, forming wide mouth; Woven in 3-rod coil; Design is in redbud and dyed bulrush and consists of plain band on base (redbud) and diagonal band with hooked rectangles (quail topknot pattern) flanked by diagonally stacked triangles, all repeated 3 times (quail topknot motif repeated 4 times) on sides. [In 1977 Pomo basketweaver Mable McKay attributed this basket to the Lake County area.] | |
