Materials White oak (Quercus alba) splints; Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) vines
Description Miniature round basket with flat base and slightly flaring, vertical sides, woven in wicker technique; Warp material is undyed oak splints arranged in radiating pattern on base and then bent upward to also form the sides; Primary weft material is undyed peeled honeysuckle vines; Design is woven of dyed yellow peeled honeysuckle vines and consists of single band that encircle mid-section of basket; Rim is reinforced on interior and exterior with dyed yellow oak splints that are coil-wrapped together with undyed oak splint; Single undyed oak splint bale handle is attached at rim.
