Materials White oak (Quercus alba) splints; Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) vines
Description Miniature round basket with flat base and slightly flaring, vertical sides, woven in wicker technique; Warp material is both undyed and dyed brown oak splints arranged in radiating pattern in alternating colors on base and then bent upward to also form the sides; Weft material of dyed brown, dyed yellow, and natural undyed peeled honeysuckle vines is used to produce an overall pattern of vertical stripes that alternate in color between half yellow - half brown, and all natural; Rim is reinforced on interior and exterior with dyed brown oak splints that are coil-wrapped together with undyed oak splint; Single undyed oak splint bale handle is attached at rim.
