Materials Rye grass (Elymus sp.) stems; Silk embroidery thread
Description Miniature round basket with flat base and flaring sides, woven entirely in closed plain twining; Warp and weft material is rye grass stems; Designs on sides of basket are woven of silk thread in false embroidery technique and include a floral motif (red stems with blue flowered tips) repeated 4 times and flanked above and below by narrow blue framing line; Matching lid is woven in same technique as basket and has short side that overlaps rim of basket and small looped handle in center; Design on lid consists of red band near shoulder and red band on handle.
