Description | Rectangular basket with flat oval base and slightly rounded sides, rising to rectangular rim; Basket is woven in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Separate lid is slightly domed and also starts as an oval shape but ends as a rectangle by increasing the diameter of the coils at the corners; Warp material is galleta grass stems and weft material is natural and aniline dyed yucca leaves; Designs on each side and end of basket actually begin on base and consist of open concentric terraced diamonds in yellow, red, and green, outlined in black; Diamonds on long sides are also flanked by pair of green terraced triangles outlined in black; Designs on lid consist of 4 concentric terraced triangles in yellow, red, and green, all on natural undyed background. | |
