Description | Waste basket with convex base and vertical sides, woven entirely in wicker technique over multiple warps; At the rim, one warp stem from each group of warps is bent over and incorporated into a rim bundle that is coil-wrapped with dyed black yucca leaves; Design on base consists of natural colored center area, encircled by several bands comprised of alternating blue and natural colored blocks, changing to green and natural colored blocks in the final bands; Sides are decorated with horizontal bands in colors of red, green, gold, blue, and yellow, with the edges of each band being terraced and adjacent bands separated by by small black and natural colored blocks of weft fibers; Narrow band of alternating black and natural colored blocks (white cloud motif) encircles rim. | |
