Description Deep basket with flat square base, vertical sides with rounded corners that rise to a high shoulder and short, constricted neck, and wide round mouth; Basket is woven entirely in simple plaiting technique; Warp material is narrow and wide split and dyed (dark brown) oak splints; Primary weft material is narrow dyed (dark brown) oak splints; Rim is reinforced with heavy peeled rod on exterior and with dyed dark brown oak splint on interior, with all elements coil-wrapped with an additional dyed dark brown oak splint; Designs are woven of undyed and dyed (golden brown) split oak splints and consists of two wide bands encircling lower sides of basket and just above midlevel height; Pair of secondary weft splints over each design band are crossed over alternate warps to form a band of 3-dimensional "X" motifs.
