Description 3-dimensional carved figurine in standing position, representing Honauwu (Dark or Black Bear, aka, Soqöm Hon or Kumbi Hon) Katsina; Figure's upper torso is painted dark brown on back and yellow on front, with blue mid-arms and black with white polka dots on forearms; Legs are also black with white polka dots; He wears reddish orange moccasins, short blue and orange fringed skirt with black breechclout and fox skin tail, and painted turquoise necklace; Brown case mask has realistic bear-shaped nose and mouth and short ears; Several dyed pink feathers are attached to top of mask and ears.
