Description 3-dimensional carved figure in standing position, representing Shalako (Courier of the gods), one of six such figures who appears during the late autumn to bless specially prepared homes and ensure bounty for the village; Tall figure is shown wears a dark green case mask with red horns and a long protruding snout; Feathers are tied to top of head and black horse hair trails down back; Figure is dressed in 3 overlapping pieces of muslin cloth painted to represent woven cotton mantas with embroidered borders; Miniature black leather moccasins are worn on the feet.
