Description Round shallow wedding basket with flat base and flaring sides, woven entirely in coiled technique over a 3-rod foundation; Warp and weft materials are probably sumac shoots; At the rim the wefts are woven into a false braid; Designs are of dyed willow or sumac and consist of the standard wedding basket design of a wide red band, with band of contiguous terraced black triangles on either side; Entire design is interrupted by a break in the pattern, known as the "spirit line" which points to the end point of the basket's rim and is oriented to the East during a ceremony.
