Description | Large shallow round plaque with wide flat base and slightly upturned outer edges; Basket is woven entirely in wicker technique over multiple warps; Warp material is common dune broom stems and weft material is natural and dyed rabbitbrush stems; At the rim, one warp in each warp group is bent over and incorporated into a bundle that is wrapped in dyed black yucca leaves; Geometric design consists of alternating red and green spokes radiating out from center, enclosed with a narrow band of white blacks edged in black (representing a white cloud motif), followed by a wider band of alternating green and dark brown spokes, and finally a wide band around rim that contains two narrow bands (one of red black and one of alternate red and green blocks) on a natural colored background. | |
