Description | Untitled painting on white paper depicting feather fan of black to dark brown feathers with blue beaded hand grip, of the type used by native American church members during ceremonies; Row of eagle plumes frame the bottom of the painting, and two brushes (?) with red horsehair bristles and blue beaded hand grips flank the feather fan; Painting is unsigned. This painting was exhibited at the National Gallery of Art in January 1942 and was selected by Ruth and Charles deYoung Elkus as one of their annual holiday cards (date unknown), printed by the Grabhorn Press in San Francisco. | |
