Description Painting on light gray watercolor paper entitled "Four Petroglyph Figures" depicting row of 4 human -like figures from various locations in Galisteo Basin, New Mexico; Each figure is shown in dancing pose and is dressed in kilt, and headdress and other articles of clothing or body paint adornment; Two central figures hold arrows in their mouths; Figures are painted in colors of brick red, white, gold, and several shades of blue; Horned sun or moon and star motifs appear overhead; Background is finely spattered to give appearance of gray sand; The following is handwritten in pencil on reverse: “1st fig[ure] from Commanche Gap, 2nd & 3rd [figures from] San Cristobal, 4th[figure from] Boca, Galisteo Basin, N. Mex."; Also written on back in different handwriting: “Joe Herrera No. 9 Four Petroglyph Figures, Price $150.00”
