Description | Woman's belt comprising 12 hammered "conchas" in form of butterflies with outstretched wings; Body of each butterfly is done in repoussé technique and stamped with parallel rows of markings; Wings are cutout and stamped with various designs and each is set with flat, oval turquoise stone in plain bezel; Copper fastening loop is soldered to back of each butterfly and all are strung on commercial gray leather belt; Large rectangular buckle is hammered and decorated with row of silver raindrops along each end done in repoussé technique; Cutout center is framed by rows of stamped geometric designs; 6 flat, oval turquoise stones are set in plain bezels along sides; Belt is unsigned. | |
