Description | Rectangular cigarette box made from sheet silver; Heavy silver bar along inside front edge of box acts as counterweight when hinged lid is opened; Convex lid was originally a ketoh with square turquoise stone set in plain bezel in center of pattern of radiating leafs that are done in repoussé technique and stamped along their edges; Additional filler designs are stamped in remaining spaces and rope-like pattern is stamped around all four sides of lid; 4 copper loops soldered onto reverse of lid were for original attachment of ketoh to leather backing pad; Box is unsigned. | |
