Small round basket with rounded base, low shoulder, and rounded sides that taper inward toward wide, round mouth; Basket is woven in wicker technique of very narrow, split bamboo strips over foundation of wide, split bamboo strips arranged in radiating pattern and overlapping in center of base; Reinforcing rod around rim is coil wrapped in bamboo (?); Woven net in constricted tubular shape that is open at both ends is attached around interior rim of basket; Upper end of netting is attached to bamboo ring that is slightly smaller in diameter than mouth of basket, so collapsed net can be stored inside basket. |
