Hook for catching octopus, carved from a single length of bone; Elongated shaft is slight curved, tapering to a sharp point at the distal end; Proximal end is slightly flared; All surfaces have been ground smooth; For use, this hook would probably have been attached to a large shell and a stone counterweight -- see CAS 0458-0466 or CAS 0143-0525 for complete examples. |
