Description Octopus lure consisting of large cowrie shell (unmodified except for small hole made at either end to facilitate hafting) and hemispherical, grooved sinker stone, both hafted back-to-back to central wooden shank with 3-ply string; Wooden shank extends above and below both the cowrie shell and the stone sinker stone, and a sharp tapered bone hook is tied to lower end of shank with string.
