Description | Deep round basket with flat base, flaring underside, vertical sides, and high inward sloping shoulder; Corresponding round lid has short lip on interior and rises to a short flat-topped cylindrical knob; Basket and lid are woven in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp fiber is rye grass stems and weft fiber is rye grass leaves; Designs are woven of dyed rye grass leaves and include 4 open terraced diamonds in red and green around sides of basket, framed above and below by single coil in dark brown; Designs on lid consist of 4 terraced "V" shapes on shoulder, framed toward center of lid by single dark brown coil. | |
