Description | Small round basket with flat base and slightly flaring sides; Small round area in center of base is woven in plain plaiting, but the major portion of the base is woven in alternating rows of plain twining and simple plaiting; Sides of basket are woven entirely in plain plaiting, except for single row of 3-strand twining at junction of base and sides and along the rim; Designs are woven in false embroidery, using dyed bear grass leaves, and consist of 6 diagonal columns of 6 stacked triangles each, with the triangles within each column in alternate colors of orange and purple; This basket is woven extremely finely. | |
