Description Deep round basket with flat base and slightly flaring sides; Base of basket is woven almost entirely in alternating rows of plain twining and simple plaiting; Outermost cm on base and entire sides are woven in plain twining technique; Warp and weft material is spruce roots; Designs include two concentric bands on base in which the weft material in the simple plaited rows is dyed black spruce roots; Pair of composite bands (each comprising alternating red and green bands) that are woven of dyed red and green spruce roots in plain twining technique encircle the mid-section of the basket and each serves as the background for a continuous rectilinear meander pattern, woven of undyed bear grass leaves in false embroidery; Narrower band between the primary bands is filled with elongated red and green (?) diagonal terraces straw-colored background, woven entirely of dyed and undyed bear grass leaves in false embroidery; Additional vertical rectilinear meander motifs are located at four points above and below the design bands, with 2 of them being red and 2 being black.
