Birds & Mammals

EXPEDITION LEADERS:
Jack Dumbacher is the expedition leader, research leader, and ornithologist.
David McGuire is the expedition co-leader, ship's Captain, and videographer.

Dumbacher has extensive experience studying Melanesian birds and birding in Australia, and McGuire has sailed throughout the South Pacific and has produced several short films on sharks, ocean conservation, and marine biology.


Team Members:


 

Several other researchers will join us to study their taxonomic group or their geographic focal area. These include:

  • Healy Hamilton, Biogeography and phylogenetics of sygnathid fish
  • Brian Fisher, Ants
  • Brian Simison, Limpet biogeography and systematics

  • Many others hope to join us, depending upon funding
