| Comments | Type by monotypy. Schrader indicates, for the type of the genus, a slide number (BM 77754) instead of a species name. Since the genus is monotypic, there is no ambiguity as to the identity of the type species, and we accept this genus as validly published by Schrader 1969. If the name is considered invalidly published by Schrader 1969, then the place of valid publication would be Ross in Farr et al. (1979), p. 969 (ref. 006663), who gave Stoschia? punctata as the type of the genus, and the name would be cited Leptoscaphos Schrader ex Farr et al. (1979). The type of the genus is the type of Stoschia? punctata Gr. & St., not a specimen on slide BM 77754 as indicated by Schrader. |
