| Comments | Later homonym of Monogramma Commerson ex Schkuhr 1808. No species are included in this genus by Ehrenberg 1843 in ref. 000296 (SVL information about N. achnanthes and N trinodis being on page 136 is erroneous, these 2 names are not mentioned in ref. 000296). Monogramma trinodis and Monogramma achnanthes appear as nomina nuda in Ehrenberg 1854 (ref. 000300) p. 12 and 121 respectively (in tables with no descriptions). In Ehrenberg 1854 (ref. 000966) caption for pl. I/II/fig. 9-10 reads: "9, 10: Achnanthes ventricosa (9. Monogramma)". This is probably the first species included in genus Monogramma; the combination to genus Monogramma however is not made. Achnanthes ventricosa is also illustrated pl. I/III/fig. 18-19. |
