| Comments | Type by monotypy. This name was possibly introduced by mistake, as a spelling error for "Cyclotella". It is illustrated pl. 120, fig. 10 (ref. 001060) as Thalassiosira subtilis Ostenfeld. H. & M. Peragallo 1907, p. 436, state that this species (Cyclosira bergonii) is similar to Cyclotella socialis Schütt and very probably a synonym of Thalassiosira subtilis Ostenfeld. |
