| Comments | In this paper, Ehrenberg creates a new genus Sphaerotermia for the species Gallionella ? californica and Gallionella horologia as follows: ".. Forsan igitur haec forma cum Gallionella Horologium Sibiriae ad peculiare Genus Sphaerotermiae deleganda est (= Perhaps then this forms [G.? californica] with Gallionella horologium of Siberia is to be assigned to a particular genus, Sphaerotermia). Ehrenberg seems to be accepting this genus with a doubt. In addition, Sphaerotermia is never associated with epithets californica or horologium in this paper, these 2 species are referred to as Gaillionella? californica and Gallionella horologium. No generitype is designated. Unclear if a generic description is included. Probably an invalid name. |
