| Comments | Seven species included, no type designated. Farr et al. (1979) and Round, Crawford & Mann 1990 (p. 694) indicate that Peragallo 1897 (ref. 001463), p. 483 designated Mastogonia crux as a lectotype. Peragallo placed some of the original species of Ehrenberg into synonymy with M. crux, treated the other species as belonging to the genera Pyxidicula and Stephanogonia, leaving in the genus Mastogonia only Mastogonia crux. Peragallo's action does not constitute typification of the genus, and the author of the lectotypification is Ross in Farr et al. (1979). |
