| Comments | In the paragraph about Ditylum Bailey (new genus), Bailey made the following comments: "Of this curious genus to which the name Grymaia was first given by its discoverer, two species have been detected...etc.". J.W. Bailey originally intended to use this name for Ditylum, however, Ditylum is the name that was published. SVL says: " Grymia L.W. Bailey MS., Habirshaw et al. 1877-1894 (Chase 1885, p. 159)". Entry in Habirshaw is "Grymia - Grymia J.W. Bail MSS (Ditylum L.W. Bail.)". Name Grymaia is invalidly published not being accepted by its author. |
