| Comments | Type by original indication. Comments: Two species are originally included and presented as: M. challengeri (Gr.) Paddock gen. and comb. nov. and M. imposter Paddock sp. nov. No type is unequivocally designated, however, we interpreted the placement of "gen. nov. comb. nov." after one species only as indication of the type. Failure to accept the genus as originally typified would mean that the genus name is invalidly published in Paddock 1988. Greuter et al. 1993, p. 688 (ref. 006911) listed M. challengeri as the type. |
