| Comments | Name conserved vs. rejected names, Podocystis Fr. 1849 [Fungi] (homonym), and Euphyllodium Shadbolt 1854 (taxonomic synonym) (see ICBN 1956, p. 201, ref. 009616). Podocystis was first used for a subgenus of Surirella by Kützing (1844, p. 62, pub. 000595) with a single taxon "Surirella (Podocystis) adriatica", then used at the genus level by Bailey. The name is not cited as Podocystis (Kützing) Bailey because Bailey's genus is not typified with Surirella adriatica. |
