Comments Type by monotypy. The name Peragalloella is introduced in the taxonomic section about Anaulus scalaris Ehr. The following comments are made (in French) after its description: "this diatom is intermediate between Pleurodesmium and Biddulphia (section Odontella) of which it has the ocelli, and Eunotogramma and Anaulus of which it has the walls. We could make of it a particular genus that we would name Peragalloella in honor of our friends Mr. H. and M. Peragallo." This species, however, is named Anaulus scalaris Ehr. in both the text and the plate (pl. 8, fig. 108-109), no transfer is formally made. It is clear that this genus is not accepted by the author, the generic name is therefore not validly published. Name not treated in Farr et al. 1979 or current internet version of the ING.
