| Comments | Later homonym of Plagiodiscus Grunow & Eulenstein 1867; synonym (substitute name): Scoliodiscus Jurilj 1954. Ref. 007062 not verified by us; information from Farr et al. 1979. Genus described as new in Jurilj 1949, pg. 21 [ref. 001298]. Ref. 001298 may be a reprint of ref. 007062. Jurilj 1949 (ref. 001298) wrote: Plagiodiscus Jur. (nov. gen.), non autem Plagiodiscus Grun. et Eul., quod genus retractatum est. (Translation "But not Plagiodiscus Grun. et Eul. which is removed"). A Latin diagnosis is given p. 23. Three species originally included: P. glaber Jur., P. echinatus Jur., P. costatus Jur., no generitype designated; Round, Crawford & Mann, p. 697, give Plagiodiscus glaber Jurilj 1948 as the type. |
