| Comments | Name rejected vs. Tetracyclus Ralfs 1843 (taxonomic synonym) Reference given in SVL (Ehrenberg1844, p. 265, ref. 001185) is erroneous, this is not the original publication of this genus but citation of the species "Biblarium ? gibbum. In Ehrenberg 1843 (ref. 001183) 9 species are listed, no generitype is designated. It seems, however, that all these species with the exception of B. glans are nomina nuda (not described), which would make B. glans (new combination of Navicula glans Ehrenberg 1838) the type (by monotypy). Otherwise, pre-rejection lectotypification with B. glans is effected by Ross in Farr et al. (1979), p. 200 (ref. 006663). |
