| Comments | Often treated as a combination of Conferva pectinalis Dillwyn 1809, because Kützing 1844 cited in synonymy "Conferva pectinalis Dillw." and "Fragilaria pectinalis Ralfs". Kützing 1844 also included "Conferva pectinalis Müll." as a synonym of Fragilaria capucina Desm. Tuji & Williams 2005 (ref. 012824) studied type material of that species and showed that Himantidium pectinale Küzing 1844 should be treated as the name of a new taxon. INA card is is agreement with Williams & Tuji 2005. | ||
