| Comments | Although Greville noted the resemblance of this diatom with Actinoptychus, no valid combination is made by Greville under Actinoptychus. The name of this taxon is validly published by Greville 1863 (ref. 000978) as Aulacodiscus paradoxus. Greville 1863 (ref. 000416) revised his position on this taxon and stated that it should be placed in the genus Omphalopelta (see corrigendum series IX), but he failed to validly publish the combination under Omphalopelta. |
