| Comments | Name previously published by Grunow 1863 (ref. 000429), possibly for the same species (figures are very similar). Not intended by Schmidt as the name of a new species. The specimen illustrated in Schmidt 1875 is from Singapore, whereas the specimen in Grunow 1863 is from the Adriatic Sea. Cleve 1895, p. 123 (ref. 000949) treats them as different species, and cites Amphora fluminensis Grunow in Schmidt 1875 in synonymy of Amphora turgida Gregory |
