CommentsName superfluous. Intended new combination of Frustulia spicula var. alpina Amossé 1972 (name invalid) (ref. 008059). All the requirements for valid publication of the name of a new taxon were fulfilled by Carter 1993. A valid name for this taxon, however, had been previously proposed by Ross & Sims 1978 (ref. 003149): Berkella linearis Ross & Sims 1978
