| Comments | Clearly not intended by H.L. Smith as the name of a new taxon. In H.L. Smith as Amphora libyca E[hrenberg]. H.L. Smith also cites on the schedule of notes "K.B. xxix, 28" (i.e. Kützing 1844, referring to Amphora libyca Ehrenberg). Non Ehrenberg 1840 according to Cleve 1895, p. 119 (ref. 000949) who cites it as synonym of Amphora veneta Kützing 1844. Cleve's opinion resulted in the "sensu H.L. Smith" entry of VanLandingham. | ||
