DIAGNOSIS
Of the four species of Malagasy Nemoleon, this species has more dark markings than N. madegassus, but less markings thatn N. picturatus or N. pulcherrimus. The easiest way to differentiate it from N. madegassus is the presence of a dark spot at the rhegma of the hindwing.

Syntypes, Malaga and Senegal, Marchal.
GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION
This is the only non-endemic species of Malagasy Nemoleon. It is found in Spain, Italy, and Sardinia south to Zaire, Uganda, and Madagascar.
TEMPORAL DISTRIBUTION
This species may have two emergences per year. It has been collected in November and January and again in July and August.
