DIAGNOSIS
This is the largest of the three Madagascar species of Palpares. It has the typical rounded wings of Palpares, but the dark bands of the forewings are reduced to small spots.

TYPE LOCALITY
Madagascar: entre Morondava et Mahabo, Grandidier; Moevarana, V., Bastard; Makaraingo, Escoffre; Majunga, 10.V.1890, Voeltzkow (syntypes).
GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION
This species is found throughout the southern quarter of the country and along the west coast, particularly in the southwest around Toliara.
TEMPORAL DISTRIBUTION
All months of the year, except June, July, and September, with a peak emergence in February and March.

20 to 1100 m.
