Golden-bellied Rocket Frog, Ptychadena chrysogaster

Family Ranidae. One member of this sharp-snouted, aerodynamic group holds the world’s record for jumping: 33' 5.5' in three leaps.

Habitat: supposedly an inhabitant of open country, this species is not common in BINP. Ours were mostly taken along roadsides. Probably not a true forest species

Range: sw Uganda, western Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Angola to Mozambique.
