Mottle-sided Reed Frog, Hyperolius lateralis

Family Hyperoliidae. The most common treefrog in BINP at middle and lower elevations, it is also one of the most variable in coloration. There is usually a broad, irregular white to yellow, black-edged lateral stripe present. This seems to replace H. castaneus at lower elevations.

Habitat: complex swamps at middle and lower elevations in the forest.

Range: Northwestern Tanzania, eastern Congo, Uganda to western Kenya.
