Disk-toed Puddle Frog , Phrynobatrachus dendrobates

Family Ranidae. only member of its genus at BINP with expanded finger and toe tips. Males with bright golden gular region. Males "guard" egg clutches, which is rare among amphibians.

Habitat: frequently found at night perched on low leaves along banks of small rivers at middle elevations.

Range: Uganda and upper Congo.
