FRESHWATER FISH DISTRIBUTION by Tim M. Berra was published by Academic Press in 2001.  This book contains 169 maps of fish families that enter fresh waters around the world.  It includes all of the primary and secondary division freshwater fishes and a selection of marine families that have freshwater representatives.  There are 324 beautiful line drawings, mostly from the last century, that illustrate many of the species discussed.  The text includes the latest taxonomic relationships, numbers of species and genera in each family, and lists the subfamilies that are currently recognized.  Ecological data, interesting natural history information, size, diet, aquarium use, importance to fisheries, etc. are included for many species. This work is a complete revision and extension of Berra’s 1981 An Atlas of the Distribution of the Freshwater Fish Families of the World.  It contains 603 pages including  62 pages of over 1500 references.  List price is US$90.00.
