Paralectotypes: (10) CAS 87389 [ex CAS 62272] (6); UMML 66495 (3). Subjectively invalid; secondarily preoccupied by Creagrutus beni Eigenmann 1911, replaced by Creagrutus pearsoni Mahnert & Géry 1988. Lectotype selected by Vari & Harold 2001:180 [ref. 25842]. •Objective synonym of Creagrutus pearsoni Mahnert & Géry 1988 -- (Vari & Harold 1998:256 [ref. 23845], Vari & Harold 2001:178 [ref. 25842], Vari & Harold in Reis et al. 2003:125 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Synonym of Creagrutus pearsoni Mahnert & Géry 1988. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Habitat: freshwater.
